Presentation title: Risk Management: An Interactive Learning Session.

Speaker: Jeffrey S. Thaler,  Sr. Project Portfolio Manager, Cargill, Inc.

Join us for a professional development evening on Thursday, February 11th, when our guest speaker, Jeff Thaler, will deliver an exciting presentation on Risk Management.  You will be given an opportunity to participate in an interactive learning session by both learning and “doing”.

As a business analyst risks are one of the few areas that can turn your work from green to red overnight!  It is relevant to all initiatives - whether you are on a small innovative agile team, writing requirements for a large cross-functional international division of your organization – or anything in between.  This presentation begins with a talk describing risk management, then has an interactive scenario (in case study format) which will challenge attendees to use risk management skills to proactively identify and manage risks.

Learning objectives:

  • Identifying risks.
  • Understanding qualitative vs quantitative risk analysis and using appropriate tools on identified risks.
  • Understanding which risks to communicate to senior leadership.
  • Using risk response planning to proactively monitor and control the appropriate risk profile.
