Policies

We realize that occasionally you are unable to attend an event for which you have pre-registered. The substitution, cancellation and refund policy below pertains to these issues regarding chapter events.  The Minneapolis St. Paul Chapter IIBA® (referred to as IIBA MSP below) reserves the right to cancel an event at any time.

Substitutions

You can substitute another individual in your place.  Instruct your substitute to ask for your name badge when checking in.  If you paid a certain money amount when you registered, it is your option to ask your substitute to reimburse you directly.  IIBA MSP will not redirect the charges on the original payment transaction received.

Cancellations and No Shows

If you are unable to attend after having registered and paid a certain monetary amount, you will be emailed a Coupon Code representing the value that you paid for that event if you email [email protected] prior to the cut-off date, which depends on the event type.

IIBA MSP Event Type

Cut-off date

Monthly Chapter Meeting

36 hours before meeting start time

Study Group

36 hours before first meeting

Professional Development Day

15 days prior to the event

This Coupon Code can be used to offset the cost of a future event.  Please allow up to 30 days after the event to receive your Coupon Code.

No Shows will not receive a Coupon Code.

Refunds

Refunds will not be issued, effective May 1, 2019.  Think of these event registrations in the same way as you’d view tickets that you purchase to a concert.  If you determine that you are unable to attend an event after the cut-off date has passed, you are welcome to gift or re-sell the ticket to another person.

FAQ’s

Q: What if I can't attend an event that I registered and paid for?

A: For Chapter Meetings and Certification Study Groups, if you are unable to attend after having registered and paid a certain monetary amount, you will be emailed a Coupon Code representing the value of that event if you email [email protected] 36 hours or more prior to the event

For Professional Development Days, if you determine that you are unable to attend PDD, try to find someone to take your spot, and tell that person to ask for your badge when checking into the event.  If you were registered by someone else in a group registration, it is your responsibility to contact that person about your inability to attend, since that person paid for your ticket.  If you are unable to find a substitute, then you will be emailed a Coupon Code representing the value of that event if you email [email protected] 15 days or more prior to the event.

A Coupon Code can be used to offset the cost of a future event.  Please allow up to 30 days after the event to receive your Coupon Code.

Q: What if IIBA MSP cancels an event for which I registered and paid?

A: IIBA MSP may need to cancel an event such as a chapter meeting due to weather conditions or a last-minute problem with our meeting space.  If IIBA MSP cancels the event, all who purchased a ticket to attend (which required paying for a certain monetary amount) will be emailed a Coupon Code representing the value of that event, which can be used to offset the cost of a future event.  Please allow up to 30 days after the event to receive your Coupon code.

Q: What if I paid for my annual chapter membership, but now cannot be a member of the chapter?

A: Purchases of our IIBA MSP chapter membership are always non-refundable, and are not eligible for Coupon Code reimbursement.

Q: Why are Coupon Codes being used now instead of refunds?

A: Our IIBA MSP chapter's website and credit card transaction processing capabilities do not enable us to issue refunds to credit card purchases, as you might be used to in working with other online merchants.  Issuing refund checks to all who request them is not feasible given our volunteer board's availability.  Therefore, the Coupon Code process leverages our website's existing capabilities while minimizing manual steps like writing and mailing checks.

Q: How long will these Coupon Codes hold their value?

A: Coupon Codes will expire 1 year after the original event's date.

Q: How do I apply a Coupon Code when registering for an event?

A: When registering for an event on our IIBA MSP website, on the Tickets and Products step of the process, please key in the Coupon Code into the “Enter Coupon Code (if applicable)” input box and click the APPLY button before continuing to the next step (see highlighted below).
