I have been working in the training and development industry for the past 19 years. I started my career with Davis, Thomas and Associates in 1990, working in the training division, DTA Training. I was in charge of all the sales functions, about ½ of the marketing duties and as luck would have it, the IT work for that division. In 1992, I took over managing DTA Training Services. As luck would have it, DTA was bought out by a giant corporate consulting firm 5 years later and they had absolutely no interest in training and development. In the fall of 1997, I reconnected with my past and joined Watermark Learning, Inc. Watermark has been a leader in the both the Business Analysis and Project Management training arena since its inception. Our Watermark Learning team was instrumental in helping form the local IIBA™ chapter in both Minneapolis and Phoenix back in 2005.
I received my Bachelors in Science from the University of Minnesota , Carlson School of Management. I have been an active member in not only the local IIBA™ chapter, but also Project Management Institute (PMI®) and the Professional Association for Computer Training (PACT). I served as treasurer for the PACT organization from 1993 until 2000. In this position, I was responsible for all facets of the accounting function for this group, including monthly reports on our financial health. I attended yearly meetings with MAP for Non Profits as a board member to help ensure financial and operational assessments. In addition to my work with PACT, I also coach hockey, tennis and baseball and served on the Centennial Youth Hockey Association board for three years… and survived!
